Irish Band It’s early March 2004 now and I have drafted only about a third of the text for the website. Last night I took a break from my computer and joined a friend at one of the local Celtic Music Concert Series programs in Florence. Last night’s band blew me away! I’ve heard many traditional Irish music groups but the new young group, Teada, was the most exhilarating and exciting I have ever heard. Sitting in the audience of some 300 or so I was so enthralled with their music that I toyed with the idea of declaring Teada as the official Irish music band for my website. So here it is. It’s official. Teada is my official Irish music band. The group of five 20-somethings (at my age everyone looks young) was chosen by the readers of Irish Music magazine as 2003’s new traditional music group of the year. The concert in Florence was their only stop in Alabama and evidentially only their second concert in this year’s 8-week American tour. Their concert schedule is on their web site www.teada.com.
